Socializing with others is important from a young age and it shapes how you socialize as an adult. Three things that impact how you interact with others are your personality (likes/dislikes, whether you are introverted or extroverted), upbringing (the way you were raised, lessons learned as a child) and experience (memories from past events determine how you interact with others today). As easy as it is to turn down all invitations and be a total homebody, it is much healthier to go out and mingle with other people regularly. Health benefits of socializing include reduced stress, longer life span, less anxiety and reduced depression. Keep going out even if you don’t really want to, and rest and recharge when you feel depleted. What is your favourite way to socialize with others? How do you meet new people?
