Work is an inevitable part of life and the number of hours spent at your place of employment can be huge. Establishing firm professional boundaries, being proactive on the job, and ensuring your life/work balance is centred are great ways to care for yourself while working. Protect yourself from toxic work environments (blame, lack of communication, unreal expectations, unsafe duties, gossip) and walk away from positions that make you miserable whenever possible. Never skip or work through your breaks and be assertive if someone tries to guilt you for taking a break that you are owed.
