Eight of Diamonds (Mindfulness)


Mindfulness is paying attention to what is happening in the present moment. People who are stressed, anxious or traumatized can have difficulty controlling the thoughts in their head when their mind wants to replay past events or stress about the future. Meditation and the practice of clearing your mind can help you quiet the brain noise and be present in, and appreciative of, the current moment. Practice mindfulness throughout your day; make a mug of tea and focus on the action of pouring the water and squeezing out the tea bag, go for a walk and pay attention to each step, close your eyes and do a body scan focusing your mind on each area of your body in turn for a few moments going from your head to your toes.When your mind tries to carry you away somewhere you don’t want to go practice grounding in the present.
