Resting is when you allow yourself, both mentally and physically, to relax and restore energy. It is to embrace doing nothing in a society where value is placed on your productivity. Not to be confused with being lazy, resting is essential for everyone to maintain a healthy mind and body and involves doing very little; sleeping, laying on the couch, taking a hot bath, doing low energy activities like puzzles, knitting, reading etc. It is important to balance out the busyness we have come to expect from every day life and allow yourself (or force yourself to take) some down time to recharge your batteries and refill your cup. It is true that you cannot pour from an empty cup and regularly replenishing your supply of energy is what will allow you to continue being productive in the future.
